Serves about 4 hungry scouts.
Supplies:
- Medium pot big enough to comfortably fit the box of pasta
- Wooden spoon
Ingredients :
- 1 box of pasta
- 1 jar of vodka sauce
Steps:
- Fill the pot ¾ of the way with water and heat at high heat on a camp stove or other heating device when not possible. (Dutch oven can work in which case the pot will need to be switched to a Dutch oven and the coals will need to be plentiful to make sure it boils thoroughly.)
- Pour in pasta and cook for the amount specified on the box as al dente, tasting if necessary.
- Once done drain water, the easiest way to do this is with the lid of the pot being careful to have the gap between the lid and the rim of the pot small when tipping to minimize pasta loss.
- Once pasta is drained, add the jar of sauce and stir, the pot can be added back to the heat on low heat to keep the sauce and pasta warm, the Dutch oven could retain enough heat making that step unnecessary. Serve warm and enjoy.
